Your approach to the Spanish town of Castalla is made on virtually empty dual carriageways sweeping through mountainous scenery and a patchwork of almond and olive groves. Despite being just 25 minutes from the coast, the large town of Alicante, its harbour and Alicante’s international airport, you could hardly be in a more Spanish setting.
