The village of Busot is 5 km inland from the coast and 12 km north of Alicante. This typical Spanish village with its very quiet residential area is ideal for anyone wishing to get away from it all yet still be within easy distance of the busy towns and beaches of El Campello and San Juan. The village is crowned by the ruins of a twelfth century Moorish castle and 3 km away are the Coves del Canelobre (Caves of Canelobre) situated on the slopes of the Cabezo d�Or (The golden hill) here guided tours are available at a very reasonable cost. These are the highest domed caves in Spain are a popular tourist attraction and within them a stage has been erected where concerts and folk festivals are held. There are several hiking routes that can be taken from Busot where walkers can enjoy unique views of the dry and jagged landscape.
