MURO DE ALCOY
Muro de Alcoy is a peaceful
Spanish town situated on the southern slopes of the Sierra
Mariola between 2 rivers. The town is split into two areas the
old parts with its narrow streets and lovely old buildings and
then the new part where the streets have an open feel and a
sense of space. Traditionally, the town has been associated
with textile production. The architecture in the town centre
is of Moorish origin, the most prominent building being the
blue domed church. Its privileged situation, lovely
environment and wonderful views allow you to enjoy not only
the quietness and contact with nature but cultural and social
experiences to. This is why muro de Alcoy appeals to the
British ex pat community with the first English shop recently
opening in the town. Public and private services are
excellent, with a health centre, an old peoples home, cinema,
and a sports complex and public swimming pool. There are also
many good restaurants where typical dishes of the area can be
tasted.
