SAN JUAN
San Juan is a
municipality belonging to the Alicante metropolitan area in
the southeast of Valencia. The local beach is the 7km long
Playa de San Juan which with its lovely golden sand is
recognised as one of the best beaches in Spain, thriving bars,
hotels and restaurants dominate the shoreline. There are three
small coves that aren�t easy to get to and have therefore been
designated as naturist�s beaches. The town itself has a
seventeenth century parish church and three hermitages. Nearby
is also the 15th century Santa Faz monastery. San Juan is
excellent for shopping and has its own Hypermarket which sells
anything from Cars to loaves of bread. Palm trees are all
around and the streets are always clean and tidy.

From Alicante Airport:-
Take A-7 motorway from Alicante Airport, exit junction 69 to
San Juan
Local Attractions:-
7km of wonderful beaches, Alicante golf nearby
Travel:- Benidorm 20km
north, local train/tram service available which runs up the
coast as far as Denia and is very cheap to use.
Festivals:- San Juan
has festivals throughout the year however the most famous of
these is the Midsummer Bonfires 19th to 24th June (Hogueras de
San Juan) where the locals construct wood and paper mache
structures which are eventually burnt in a strict order
according to local customs.
Local Shopping:- A
variety of shops are available in San Juan locals often use
the local Hypermarket which sells items ranging from Cars to
loaves of bread.
